For those of you who are first meeting the Active Alumni Writers (AAW), we are a tribe of 37-ish writers from all walks of life and serendipitously corralled together by social media. The initial lasso was an online writing course in which the students spent significant time and effort critiquing one another’s work. If you’ve ever criticized a fellow writer, then you understand how paramount an agreeable personality must be to maintain a working relationship with that individual.
It turned out that that particular writing course was chock full of good-humored folks and so friendly that they all agreed to participate in a private Facebook group to continue mentoring and criticizing one another. Now, two years into our endeavor, we still provide critiques for one another but we've also added collaborative publishing to our resume. The result, our anthologies.
