What happens when you take a group of writers from across the globe, put them together in a video chat room, and propose to them the idea of creating a collective literary work, all while allowing them each their preference of genre? The answer is something quirky, something fun, something thrilling, something eclectic, and above all, something truly unique.
The Rearview Mirror is an anthology of sorts, though maybe not in the traditional sense. An anthology is defined as “a collection of selected writings by various authors . . . in the same literary form, of the same period, or on the same theme." While each of the stories in The Rearview Mirror has a common thread and theme, the genres in which they are told vary. We will leave it up to our readers to interpret the ones used here. It is advisable to read the book from beginning to end to understand the global plot progression, but readers may choose their favorite stories to enjoy individually as well. Our wish is that there will be something for everyone within these pages.

Once Upon a Story: Stories to Inspire and Intrigue You is an anthology put together by Active Alumni Writers, a group of 37 writers who took a class together and stayed in touch online. The anthology features 18 stories by 15 authors and includes six genres: science fiction, realistic, fantasy, drama, psychological thriller, and horror. None of the 18 short stories in the collection is in any way related to the others; each is as unique as its creator. Our authors hail from five different countries: the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and Japan. And though they come from all walks of life, they share a collective passion for writing. We hope you enjoy it.
